Men's Tennis Toughs Out 4-3 Win over Penn to Open Ivies
March 28, 2009 | Men's Tennis
PRINCETON -- Late wins by Alex Faust, Peter Capokvic, Alex Vuckovic and Ryan Kim helped the Princeton men's tennis team gut out a 4-3 win over Penn to start the Ivy League season Saturday.
Princeton lost the doubles point despite Capkovic and Vuckovic finishing first with a win at first doubles. The two Tigers then went on to win their singles matches in three sets, Vuckovic bouncing back from a 4-1 deficit in set two.
While Ryan Kim rebounded from losing a second-set tiebreak to win in three sets, the clincher belonged to Faust and his straight-set win which also went to a tiebreak in the first set.
Princeton will continue its Ivy season with a trip to Yale and Brown next weekend.
