PRINCETON -- Princeton head women's tennis coach Kathy Sell has been chosen as one of two coaches for the U.S. Tennis Association's women's summer collegiate team, the USTA has announced.
Sell, in her fifth year at Princeton, will work with California head coach Amanda Augustus in leading the team, which consists of 12 women from across the collegiate landscape who have performed well in the NCAA Championships as well as national ITA events during the season. The team will be named in May.
“Amanda Augustus and Kathy Sell were two of the top collegiate players during their playing days and are now two of the top college coaches in the nation,” said Ola Malmqvist, Head of Women's Tennis, USTA Player Development in a release on the ITA Web site. “Their playing and coaching experience coupled with their passion for the game will make them great assets to this summer's program.”
Sell, a 2001 Duke alumna, has Princeton in the race for the Ivy League title this season after bringing in national No. 1 and No. 2 recruiting classes in the last two seasons.
