Princeton Track & Field Hosts ECAC Championship, May 15-17

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/13/09) ? Princeton hosts the 26th ECAC Championship this weekend, May 15-17 at Weaver Stadium.
A schedule of events, directions and more can be found on the official 2009 IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championship Web site.
Admission on Friday is free, while Saturday and Sunday are ticketed. A two-day ticket is $16 for adults and $8 for children, seniors and students. A one-day ticket for either Saturday or Sunday is $10 for adults and $5 for children, seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased at the Southeast corner of Princeton Stadium.

The Tigers have declared in 13 events.
Kicking things off will be sophomores Liz Deir and Ashley Higginson in the steeplechase on Friday at 7:20 p.m. Both have qualified for the NCAA Regional already. Twenty minutes later, freshman Alex Banfich, juniors Alexa Glencer and Reilly Kiernan, senior Jolee VanLeuven and Higginson will run in the 5000. Banfich, Kiernan and Higginson have qualified for the Regional in this event, with Banfich holding down the top time at 16:23.24.
The final event for the Tigers on Friday will be the 10,000-meter run. Kiernan is scheduled to compete in the race slated for 8 p.m.
The team has Saturday morning off with sophomore Emma Ruggiero getting things started with the hammer throw at 1 p.m. The 4x100 trials start at 2:45 p.m., followed by the pole vault at 3 p.m. Senior Jessica Kloss and freshman Lydia Arias are declared in the pole vault. Kloss is qualified for the NCAA Regional with a clearance of 3.85 meters, a mark she has reached three times this season.
Junior Liz Costello, senior Alexe Smith and Banfich will run the trials of the 1500 at 3:05 p.m., followed by Lauren Barber in the 100-meter hurdles at 3:25 p.m.
The discus throw will be held at 4 p.m., with senior Emma Giunipero declaring in the event.
Senior Agatha Offorjebe and freshman Eileen Moran will run in the 200-meter dash at 5:25 p.m., and the 4x800 and 4x400 relays follow at 5:45 and 6 p.m., respectively.
On Sunday, sophomore Thanithia Billings will partake in the shot put at 1 p.m.
