Bradley Previews Women's Tennis' Season, Opening Wednesday
January 25, 2010 | Women's Tennis
PRINCETON -- Coming off a successful 2009 season and entering the 2010 spring with a new coach, the Princeton women's tennis team will host Seton Hall and Temple to open the spring Wednesday at Jadwin Gym.
The Seton Hall match will begin at 10 a.m. and the Temple match at 4 p.m.
Princeton enters the spring ranked No. 44 in the nation and No. 1 in the Northeast by the ITA in its first spring rankings. Hilary Bartlett and Taylor Marable, who advanced to the NCAA doubles tournament last season, are ranked No. 16 in the nation as a doubles team and Bartlett is ranked No. 121 as a singles player.
Princeton advanced to the NCAA tournament last spring for the first time since 2009, taking Florida International to the final match before ultimately falling 4-3. Miami (Fla.) hosted that regional and months later saw one of its assistant coaches, Megan Bradley, become Princeton's newest head coach.
The Tigers are 6-1 all-time against Seton Hall with the last match coming during the 2004 spring season. Against Temple, the Tigers hold a 13-1 series advantage. Princeton has faced the Owls annually since 2003 and has won all seven of those matches.
