Penn State Tops Men's Tennis 6-1 in Spring Opener

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- No. 54 Penn State swept the Princeton men's tennis team 7-0 Sunday afternoon to start the Tigers' spring season.
Charlie Brosens defeated Penn State's Jason Lee at third singles in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 to win Princeton's point.
The match saw the dual meet debut of freshmen Matija Pecotic and Matt Siow, with Pecotic taking his No. 1 singles match to a third set. Yohei Shoji, at fourth singles, was the other Tiger to push his match to a third set, losing in a tiebreak.
The Tigers will be away from competition until the ECAC Championships Feb. 12-15 and will resume dual-meet competition Feb. 20 against St. John's in Jadwin Gym.
