Ties Go To Tigers; Men's Tennis Beats Yale, 4-3

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Princeton began its play in the ECAC men's tennis tournament Saturday morning by upending Yale, 4-3.
The Bulldogs are ranked No. 69 in Division I by the ITA and hold the No. 3 seed in the ECAC event. Princeton holds the No. 6 seed and will advance to face second-seeded Harvard in a semifinal match Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
Both clinching matches in doubles and singles play came down to tiebreakers. Coleman Crutchfield and Michael Lin outlasted Daniel Hoffman and John Huang of Yale, 9-8, and Matt Spindler defeated Hoffman 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 to clinch the overall match. While Yale won the top two singles slots, three of Princeton's four points on the day came from third, fourth and fifth singles, won by Yohei Shoji, Spindler and Ravi Yegya-Raman.
