Princeton Welcomes Division I's Second-Ranked Incoming Class
June 17, 2026 | Men's Tennis
The Princeton men's tennis team welcomes three members in its Class of 2030, though the bigger number here might actually be two. The three incoming players make up the No. 2 recruiting class in Division I according to tennisrecruiting.net, behind only Virginia.
"We are incredibly excited to welcome three great student-athletes for the class of 2030 for what is certainly one of our highest ranked recruiting classes," Tiger head coach Billy Pate says. "All three bring a wealth of experience at the top level of international junior tennis, as well as success in professional events. They have ambitious goals that align wonderfully with our own aspirations for them and our team. We also feel they will be an ideal fit for our team culture and excellent additions to the campus academic community. I know they are looking forward to arriving on campus in a few months to start their journey at Princeton."
The three newcomers are China's Alex Luo, Southern California's Ford McCollum and Serbia's Simeon Stankovic.
Jun Hao (Alex) Luo, who comes to Princeton from Chengdu, China, has won four ITF doubles titles and one singles title and reached 202 in the ITF world junior rankings. He is now third-ranked U18 player in China, after having played on the U14 and U16 national teams. In 2023, he won the national championship in U16 while defeating the No. 1 and No. 2 players along the way. He recently defeated the world No. 23 U18 player in a tournament in Japan, after a summer where he earned his first ATP point. Alex now has a ranking an ATP world ranking of 1777 and UTR rating of 12.44.
Ford McCollum comes to Princeton from Laurel Springs, Calif., where he has long been one of the top players on both the Southern California junior circuit and nationally. In fact, he was the top-ranked American player by the USTA at both the U.S. U12 and U14 levels, and he has consistently been in the top 20 of the national junior rankings during his high school career. He also competed internationally in France at Les Petiti A's, the top U14 indoor event in the world, and at the U.S. Open junior championships in New York City. An exceptional doubles player as well, the lefty has won five ITF doubles championships, including the 2024 Orange Bowl U16 title and then four more in 2025. Ford is a blue-chip recruit on tennisrecruiting.com and has been ranked No. 95 in the ITF world junior rankings.
Simeon Stankovic enters Princeton having already reached a high of 916th in the ATP world rankings while earning his first ATP point at the age of 17, a rarity for a U18 player. He won his first Serbian national championship as a U10 player and then finished as runner-up in U12 at ages 10 and 11. He went on to earn the Serbian national No. 1 U18 ranking when he was only 15, which opened the door to playing internationally and in professional level events. To date, he has reached six ITF pro semifinals and boasts a 13.51Universal Tennis Rating, which trails only All-American Paul Inchauspe among current Tigers.
