Women's Track Resumes Indoor Season in NYC

PRINCETON, N.J. (1/7/10) - The Princeton women's track and field team resumes its indoor season on Friday, Jan. 8 when it competes at the Metro Coaches Collegiate Invitational at The Armory in New York.
A total of 33 schools will compete in the meet.
The Tigers will send Lauren Barber, Biana Mathabane and Melissa Tassone to compete in the 60-meter hurdles. Tassone will also run the 60-meter dash along with Abidemi Adenikinju and Erin Guty. Adenikinju, Guty, Danielle Glaeser and Eileen Moran will tackle the 200 meter dash, while Joie Hand will be the solo Tiger in the 400-meter run.
In the 500, Princeton will be represented by Christine Brozynski, Katherine Sirico, Michelle Yousefian and Melissa Zajdel. Greta Feldman, Libby Bliss and Maggie McKeever will run the 800, while Mel Newbery, Laura Zumbach and Abby Hewitt will take on the 3000-meter run.
The trio of Lydia Arias, Tory Worthen and Lauren Tauscher will compete in the pole vault.
Aundeah Kearney and Megan Skalbeck will compete in the long jump and high jump, respectively. Thanithia Billings will compete in the shot put and weight throw, with Alyssa Pehmoeller and Emma Ruggiero also taking on the weight throw.
Last year, Billings won the shot put, while Pehmoeller and Kearney medaled in the weight and long jump.
