October 25, 2010 | General
Princeton University and Nelligan Sports Marketing have announced a long-term extension of their partnership that continues the New Jersey-based company's exclusive rights to manage the University's athletic corporate sponsorship program.
"We are extremely pleased that we are able to continue our relationship with Nelligan Sports Marketing for the foreseeable future," said Princeton Director of Athletics Gary Walters, Princeton University's Athletic Director. "NSM's talented staff has enabled us to form meaningful corporate partnerships with companies previously untapped by the University in a challenging economic environment. In addition to growing our sponsorship revenue, NSM has represented the University in a first class manner and we look forward to continuing to grow our partnership."
Princeton and Nelligan Sports Marketing first
began working together five years ago. Nelligan's corporate sponsorship efforts
have been in support of Princeton's motto of "Education Through Athletics,"
which views college athletics as a co-curricular extension of the students'
educational experience.
"We're thrilled to continue our partnership with Princeton University," said TJ
Nelligan, Chairman and CEO of NSM.
"It's an honor to be associated with one of the most prestigious
Universities in the country. We've
formed great relationships with Gary Walters and his staff and are excited to
continue working with them for many years to come."
Princeton University has 38 varsity athletic teams and nearly 1,000 athletes, who make up 17% of the undergraduate study body. Princeton has won the Ivy League's unofficial all-sports points championship each of the last 24 years and has had a team or individual national champion each of the last 39 years.
"A corporate partnership with Princeton University is truly unique in that it provides corporate America with an association with one of the premier academic institutions as well as an elite all-around Division I athletic program," said NSM Vice President Mark Donley. We're excited for the opportunity to continue to represent this great University and develop unique programs that allow our partners to associate their brands with Princeton in a meaningful way."
