Shon Finishes at Par in Missouri, Tigers Take 11th
October 05, 2010 | Women's Golf
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Princeton freshman Kelly Shon finished sixth overall and posted an even-par score overall in the three-round Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by Missouri which wrapped Tuesday.
Shon led at the end of the second round after back-to-back rounds of 2-under 70 but posted a third-round score of 76. A pair of Oklahoma State players, Courtney McKim and Victoria Park, tied for first at 4-under. Park used a third-round 65, the tournament's low round by three shots, to take a share of the final lead.
Shon was seeking to become the first Princeton freshman since Sharla Cloutier '07 won the Princeton Invitational in 2003 to win a tournament. She and the Tigers will have another chance in less than two weeks at Harvard's tournament Oct. 16-17.
With big help from McKim and Park, Oklahoma State finished below par as a team at 1-under to win the tournament title by 15 shots over conference foe Colorado. The Big 12 had eight teams in the 15-team field in which Princeton placed 11th.
The Tigers' complete results are below, and results from all teams are available at the link above.
