Marable, Bartlett End Play at ITA All-America Tournament

LOS ANGELES -- Taylor Marable and Hilary Bartlett ended their play in the ITA All-America tournament Friday in the singles and doubles consolation brackets.
Bartlett was in the singles consolation draw after a loss Thursday. The Princeton junior lasted three sets against Utah's Anastasia Putlina 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. In the doubles consolation bracket, Bartlett and Marable lost to Lindsey Hardenbergh and Erin Vierra 8-3.
Thursday, the pair began the 32-team main-draw doubles tournament with an 8-6 loss to Morgan Frank and Nazari Urbina of Texas A&M, the 45th-ranked duo on the ITA's preseason list. Bartlett and Marable were ranked eighth in the preseason.
In the first round of the 32-player main-draw singles competition Thursday, Bartlett, the 49th-ranked player in the nation in the ITA's preseason rankings, fell to 10th-ranked Nina Secerbegovic of Baylor, 6-4, 6-4.
The Tigers will compete next in the ITA Regional at Dartmouth beginning Oct. 22.
