O'Neil Wins Final Ivy League Rookie of the Week Honor

PRINCETON, N.J. (11/15/10) - Patrick O'Neil of the Princeton men's soccer team has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday, Nov. 15.
O'Neil scored the biggest game of his rookie campaign when he scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Yale on Saturday, Nov. 13 in the final game of the regular season. With the win Princeton finishes the season with a perfect Ivy League record at 7-0, for the first time in program history. In addition the Tigers extend their win streak to program record 12 straight games.
O'Neil scored from the top of the box early in the second half to snap a tie, and the Tigers made it stand the rest of the way. It was his second goal of the season.
This is O'Neil's second Rookie of the Week honor, having earned the award back on Oct. 18. Princeton concludes the weekly award season with seven honors.
Princeton concludes the regular season 13-3-1 and a perfect 7-0 as the Ivy League Champion. The Tigers will learn their NCAA pairing during the ESPNU Selection Show between 4:30-5 p.m., tonight.
