November 04, 2010 | Women's Golf
KAHUKU, Hawaii -- The Princeton women's golf team's lead at the Turtle Bay Collegiate Invitational tripled after Wednesday's second round, while Kelly Shon retained her one-shot lead atop the individual standings.
Princeton led by four shots over BYU after Tuesday's round at the Arnold Palmer Course and now is 12 shots in front of UC Irvine and Portland State, 15-over to 27-over. Rounding out the field are BYU (+29), Southern Illinois (+45), Hawaii (+46) and the University of British Columbia (+57).
Kelly Shon carded a 3-over 75 Wednesday to drop to even par, while runner-up Michelle Park also shot 75 to stay one shot back at 1-over. Of the 41 golfers who competed in Round Two, 27 saw their round scores go up from Tuesday to Wednesday.
The only Tiger who didn't shoot a higher total in the second round was Kate Scarpetta, who chopped 10 shots off her 8-over round Tuesday to shoot 70 Wednesday. No player from any team did better in the second round, with Kalyn Dodge of Portland State as the only player to shoot par Wednesday.
