PRINCETON, N.J. (12/11/10) - Junior forward Antoine Hoppenot of the Princeton men's soccer team has been named to the 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru Men's NCAA Division I All-America Team, it was announced by the organization on Friday.
Hoppenot earns second-team honors, as the only Ivy League player to earn All-America honors this season.
In addition, Hoppenot was named third-team All-America by College Soccer News.
The 2010 Ivy League Player of the Year continues to add to his postseason accolades. He was a semifinalist for the Hermann Trophy and is a nominee for the Soccer News Net Player of the Year. Hoppenot was named first-team All-Region by the NSCAA earlier in the week and is a first-team All-Ivy League selection.
The Princeton, N.J., native led the league in scoring with nine goals and five assists for 23 points. Hoppenot helped the Tigers to a 13-4-1 overall record and the program's first perfect 7-0 Ivy League record. He guided Princeton to its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance after winning a program record 12 consecutive games during the regular season.
Hoppenot becomes the 13th player in Princeton history to earn All-America status and is the first since 2002, when Mike Nugent earned the prestigious honors.
