Hoppenot Named Semifinalist for Hermann Trophy

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (12/2/10) - Princeton men's soccer player Antoine Hoppenot has been named a semifinalist for the Hermann Trophy. The Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual award in intercollegiate soccer, the equilavant of the Heisman Trophy.
The Ivy League Player of the Year is one of 15 national nominees. The three finalists for the award will be announced on Dec. 10.
The junior striker led the team in scoring with nine goals and five assists for 23 points. He finished the season as the top goal and point scorer in the Ivy League. Hoppenot was named to the Princeton Invitational All-Tournament team for scoring four of his team's six goals during the weekend. He made his way onto the scoresheet in 11 of Princeton's 18 games, and scored two game-winning goals. His second game winner came against Penn in the the game that would decide the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Princeton finished the incredible 2010 season with a perfect 7-0 Ivy League mark, finishing the regular season winning 12 consecutive games.
