March 16, 2010 | Women's Golf
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Freshman Anna Jang leads the individual standings by a single stroke, pacing the Princeton women's golf team to a second-place standing with a round to play at the Winthrop Intercollegiate Monday.
Play begins at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for the final round.
Belmont Abbey College, a Charlotte-area Division II program, leads at +56, eight shots ahead of Princeton in the 12-team field. The Tigers are in front of Xavier, Winthrop, Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, Marshall, High Point, South Carolina-Upstate, Wisconsin-Green Bay, St. Francis (Pa.) and Findlay (Ohio).
Jang stands at +9, a shot in front of Meagan Wallace of Belmont Abbey. Junior Rachel Blum and sophomore Wonji Choi stand seventh and ninth at +16 and +17, respectively, while senior Michelle Grilli and junior Maggie Boberg tied to round out Princeton's five at +20 in 20th place.
Jang's first-round 74 stands as the tournament low round and helped her become one of five players in the field to break 80 in both of Monday's rounds.
