Spring Football, Rowing Take Top Spots In Latest TigerCast
April 15, 2010 | Football, Women's Rowing - Lightweight
Rising junior Tommy Wornham, the frontrunner to be Princeton's starting quarterback in 2010, and Paul Rassam, the head coach of the Princeton women's lightweight crew, join the April 15 edition of TigerCast.
Rassam is the head coach of the third-ranked Princeton women's lightweight crew, which will host Georgetown this Sunday in The Class of 2006 Cup regatta on Lake Carnegie. Rassam took a young crew out to California last weekend, where it lost tight races to No. 1 Wisconsin and No. 2 Stanford. However, with such youth in his program, he likes the direction his program is taking and believes that those same teams could see a much stronger boat when the postseason arrives.
Wornham started all 10 games at quarterback for the football team last year and is back on the field for Princeton's 12 spring sessions right now. Plenty has changed in between those two seasons, as new head coach Bob Surace '90 and seven new assistants have brought a new system and new ideas to the oldest program in college football. In an extended discussion, Wornham touches on his first season as a starter, the offseason and his views on the early progression of this new offense.
