PRINCETON -- Both Tiger golf teams will head for their final pre-Ivy League Championship tournaments this weekend, with the women going to Columbia's tournament outside New York City and the men playing in a Yale-hosted event outside Baltimore.
The women's team will play first, starting their tournament with a round Friday at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, N.Y. at Columbia's Roar-EE Invitational. All seven Ivy League women's programs will play, sharing the course with seven other schools including Albany, Boston University, Fairleigh Dickinson, Lehigh, Long Island, Sacred Heart and Siena. The two-round event will conclude with 18 holes Saturday on the par-72, 6,061-yard course.
Princeton's men will begin Saturday at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md., in another Ivy-heavy event. Six of the eight league programs will compete, including Brown, Cornell, Harvard and Penn alongside the Tigers and host Yale. Joining them will be a pair of Atlantic 10 teams, George Washington and Temple. The event will feature one round Saturday and one Sunday on the par-71, 6,942-yard course.
Each team will have a shorter trip to next weekend's Ivy League Championship, which will begin Friday, April 23 at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.
