April 25, 2010 | Women's Golf
SPRINGFIELD, N.J. -- Princeton's women's golf team completed the three-round Ivy League Championship in third place Sunday at Baltusrol Golf Club's Upper Course.
Anna Jang (78-83-79--240) finished ninth overall as the top Tiger with a score of +24 on the par-72 course, winning second-team All-Ivy honors. Michelle Grilli (82-84-79--245) tied for 13th at +29, while Wonji Choi (83-77-86--246) tied for 15th at +30, Kate Scarpetta (82-82-85--249) tied for 19th at +33, and Olivia Garard (86-83-84--253) finished 23rd at +37.
Penn was the league champion with a +65 score and a 21-shot margin over Yale. Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Columbia and Dartmouth rounded out the field. Individually, Yale's Alyssa Roland won medalist honors at +11 by a shot over Penn's Isabel Han. The course was a tough one for everyone in the field of 35, as no player broke par and Harvard's Katie Sylvan had the tournament's low round Friday with a 72.
The Ivy meet concludes a season that saw the Tigers compete in nine events with a team that includes just one senior, Grilli, and a lineup that closed the season with two freshmen in Garard and Jang, a sophomore in Choi and a junior in Scarpetta join Grilli for the league tournament.
