Chris Ayres Introduces Nationally Ranked Wrestling Class Of 2014

Coming off the program's best Ivy League season in more than two decades and returning eight of 10 starters, Princeton wrestling head coach Chris Ayres already had positive thoughts about the 2010-11 season. Those feelings are even stronger now that he can officially announce his Class of 2014.
Seven wrestlers, including three state champions and one USA Cadet national champion, will join the Princeton wrestling program next fall. The class has been ranked as high as No. 19 in national preseason polls; that ranking was second in the Ivy League behind only NCAA runner-up Cornell.

Adam Krop
125/133 • Urbana, Md. • Urbana HS
Krop is a three-time Maryland state champion and has been ranked as high as 15th nationally in his weight class. He placed fifth at the NHSCA high school nationals.
Joe DeQuinzio
133/141 • Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. • Hasbrouck Heights
DeQuinzio placed eighth in his weight class at the New Jersey state wrestling championships.
Seth Hazelton
141 • Shenendehowa, N.Y. • Shenendehowa
Hazelton is a two-time section champion in New York. He was injured the week of the 2010 state championships and was unable to compete.
Robert Shepherd
149 • Mason, Ohio • Mason
Shepherd was the 2009 Ohio state champion and placed third in the 2010 state championships. He has also been ranked as high as 15th in his weight class.
Brandon Rolnick
157 • Lawrenceville, N.J. • Lawrenceville Prep
Rolnick is a former champion of both the USA Cadet national freestyle wrestling tournament and the FILA Cadet national freestyle wrestling tournament. He has placed both second and third at Prep nationals and finished third at the USA Junior national wrestling Ironman Tournament championships. He has been ranked No. 1 at his weight class during his high school career, although he is currently out of the rankings after suffering an injury as a senior.
Ryan Callahan
174/184 • Walkill, N.J. • Walkill Valley
Callahan won the 171-pound weight class at the 2010 New Jersey state championships after placing second in the state as a junior. He is currently ranked fifth in his weight class in the national rankings and placed fourth in the Super 32 wrestling tournament. Callahan is the all-time wins leader in Sussex County, N.J.
Dan Santoro
184 • Barrington, Ill. • Barrington
Despite starting to wrestle later than most, Santoro still managed to place fourth in the Illinois state wrestling championships and sixth in the USA Cadet national championships.
