April 09, 2010 | Women's Tennis
PRINCETON -- Continuing their best-since-2000 start to league play, the Princeton women's tennis team made it four straight Ivy victories Friday with a 5-2 win over Harvard at the Lenz Tennis Center.
Princeton swept the doubles point and got singles victories from Hilary Bartlett, Rachel Saiontz, Blakely Ashley and Monica Chow. Bartlett, ranked No. 72 on the ITA's singles chart, picked up an upset by the numbers when she knocked off No. 58 Holly Cao at first singles.
Ranked 28th in the nation by the ITA as the top team east of Michigan and north of Virginia, Princeton earned its ninth win over a fellow ranked opponent in 12 tries this season. The Tigers can make it 10 such wins Saturday, but will have to get past No. 48 Dartmouth in a noon start at the Lenz Center to do so.
