Track & Field Hosts ECAC Championship May 14-16

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/13/10) - The Princeton women's track & field team will host the 27th ECAC Championship this weekend, May 14-16 at Weaver Stadium.

Admission on Friday is free, while Saturday and Sunday are ticketed. A two-day
ticket is $16 for adults and $8 for children and seniors. A one-day ticket for
either Saturday or Sunday is $10 for adults and $5 for children and seniors.
Princeton students can gain free admission with a valid ID. Tickets may be
purchased at the Southeast corner of Princeton Stadium near gates 31/32.

The Tigers have declared in 12 events.
Kicking things off will be junior Ashley Higginson and freshman Mel
Newbery in the steeplechase on Friday at 7 p.m. Higginson won the steeplechase
at Heps last weekend with Newbery taking second. Junior Sarah Cummings will
compete in the 10,000-meter run at 7:40 p.m., an event she dominated last
weekend at Heps.
Juniors Emma Ruggiero and Thanithia Billings gets things started on Saturday with the hammer throw at 10 a.m. The duo went 2-3 in the hammer at Heps and have personal best marks of 58.83 meters and 54.62 meters, respectively.
Billings will also compete in the shot put, along with junior Isabell von Loga at 10 a.m., on Sunday. Billings has a personal-best mark of 15.26 meters and von Loga has thrown to 13.61 meters this season.
Sophomore Alex Banfich and freshman Alexis Mikaelian will run in the 1500-meter run trials on Saturday at 10:50 a.m. The final will be held on Sunday at 12:15 p.m. Banfich boasts a time of 4:24.94 this season while Mikaelian has run a 4:30.61.
The 2010 ECAC indoor pole vault champion, freshman Tory Worthen will look to defend her title. She vaulted to a height of 4.00 last weekend to win the Heps title. Her event is Saturday at 11 a.m.
Junior Libby Bliss will tackle the 800-meter run at 12:50 p.m., on Saturday in the trials with the finals being held on Sunday at 1:35 p.m. Bliss has run a 2:11.16 in the 800 this season.
Sophomore Eileen Moran will run in both the 100- and 200-meter dash. She boasts personal best times of 11.73 and 24.14 in those events. The trials of the 100 are Saturday at 11:35 a.m., with the semis at 12:35 p.m., and the finals on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. The 200-meter dash trials are at 1:40 p.m., on Saturday with the final on Sunday at 2:15 p.m.
The Tigers will also run the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 relays. The 4x100 of Abidemi Adenikinju, Danielle Glaeser, Erin Guty and Moran will compete in the trials on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with the finals on Sunday at 12 p.m. The 4x400 consisting of Michelle Yousefian, Joie Hand, Glaeser and Moran, will run the trials at 2 p.m., on Saturday with the finals at 3 p.m., on Sunday. The 4x800 of Greta Feldman, Brooke Russell, Bliss and Mikaelian will run the trials at 2:20 p.m., on Saturday with the finals at 2:40 p.m., on Sunday.
