Bartlett, Marable Selected to NCAA Doubles Tournament
May 06, 2010 | Women's Tennis
PRINCETON -- For the second straight year, Hilary Bartlett and Taylor Marable will represent the Ivy League at the NCAA doubles tournament at Georgia at the end of the month.
Bartlett and Marable are ranked No. 27 in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in the May 3 ranking.
The field will consist of 32 doubles teams playing a single-elimination draw beginning May 26 at the University of Georgia. The event draw will be released closer to the date of competition.
When the pair were selected to the NCAA doubles tournament a year ago, they became the first Tigers since 2002 to play in one of the NCAA individual women's tennis championships. Bartlett and Marable bowed out in the first round to Karen Nijssen and Kristi Boxx of Mississippi, who are back in the tournament again.
The sophomore Bartlett and the junior Marable will compete with their teammates at the NCAA team championship beginning May 14 when Princeton will face Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
