Women's Golf to Host Princeton Invitational This Weekend
September 15, 2010 | Women's Golf
PRINCETON -- Eleven women's golf teams will join the Tigers at Springdale Golf Club for the two-day, 54-hole Princeton Invitational this weekend.
Princeton will welcome Columbia, Georgetown, Harvard, Monmouth, Penn, Rollins, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, St. John's and Yale. Rollins took home both the team and individual championships last fall, defeating Harvard by five strokes and seeing then-junior Joanna Coe, at 2-over, hold off Harvard's Christine Cho and Princeton's Anna Jang by two shots.
Each day's play will start at 8 a.m. on the par-72, 6,131-yard course with 36 holes Saturday and 18 holes Sunday. The tournament will be Princeton's first under new head coach Nicki Cutler, who came to the Tigers from Vanderbilt where she was an assistant coach for three years.
This year's Princeton Invitational will be the 14th annual, and the Tigers have taken home eight of the team titles, most recently in the fall of 2007. That was also the last year a Tiger won the individual title at the home meet, with Susannah Aboff '09 taking the honor.
