PRINCETON -- Though the Princeton women's soccer team's three-match winning streak came to an end Friday night on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium against Long Island, the Tigers will get back on the field in short order when they travel to Hofstra for a 1 p.m. game Sunday.

Hofstra will be the third straight team with a winning record that the Tigers have faced after defeating James Madison 6-3 last Sunday and falling to Long Island 1-0 Friday night. The Pride enters the game on a five-match winning streak following a season-opening 5-0 loss at Boston College on Aug. 27.
Princeton is the second straight Ivy opponent for Hofstra, which used an Amy Turner goal with five minutes left in the second overtime to defeat Columbia 1-0 Friday night in Manhattan. The victory was Hofstra's first shutout of the season.
Though both Princeton and Hofstra have seen two goalkeepers in action this season, the Tigers have used Kristin Watson for the last three-and-a-half games and the Pride has employed Krista Thorn for the last two-and-a-half contests.
Seven Pride and six Tigers have scored goals this season, with Salma Tarik's five leading Hofstra and Jen Hoy's four pacing Princeton. Each had a recent spurt to propel her to the top of the goals column, with Tarik scoring three of Hofstra's six goals on a trip to Indiana for victories over Indiana and Purdue last weekend, while Hoy scored three goals in the win over James Madison last Sunday.
Hofstra holds the series edge 2-1 against the Tigers, with Princeton winning 4-0 in 2006 in a Penn-hosted game, and Hofstra winning the last two by scores of 1-0 on Long Island in 2008 and 2-1 last year in Princeton.
