Faust, Shoji Get Doubles Win at Farnsworth/Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON -- Alex Faust and Yohei Shoji won the "B" doubles flight to close out the Princeton Invitational Sunday at the Lenz Tennis Center, capping a three-day tournament with five singles flights, three doubles flights and players from 10 schools.
Faust and Shoji, who defeated Taylor Cohen and Guanhua Chen of Penn State 9-7, were two of four Tigers in action Sunday, with Matt Spindler and Coleman Crutchfield making their way into the tournament's third day. Both of their opponents came away with wins, however, with Daniel Hoffman of Yale winning the "A" singles consolation title over Spindler 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, and Stefan Bojic of St. John's defeating Crutchfield 6-2, 6-3 in the "C" main draw final.
The invitational marked the beginning of the fall season for the Tigers, some of whom are scheduled to compete next weekend in the USTA Invitational in New York.

"C" singles: Stefan Bojic (St. John's) def. Coleman Crutchfield (P), 6-2, 6-3 (Main draw final)
"B" doubles: Alex Faust/Yohei Shoji (P) def. Guanhua Chen/Taylor Cohen (Penn State), 9-7 (final)
