Sprint Football Falls to Cornell 33-12
September 25, 2010 | Sprint Football
PRINCETON -- Though the Tigers were within striking distance of Cornell for much of Friday night's sprint football game, the Big Red pulled away late in a 33-12 win.
John Moffat's 12-yard touchdown catch from Jais Zachariah at the end of the second quarter brought Princeton within seven points after Cornell managed two field goals and a 43-yard Spenser Grunenfelder touchdown catch in the first half.
Cornell was able to keep Princeton from getting any closer while it scored 20 straight points before a Moffat one-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter to make it 33-12.
Zachariah ended up passing for 115 yards, while Kevin Infante picked up 51 yards in the air and netted 23 more on the ground. Cornell kicker Alex Perlistein led everyone in scoring with his four field goals.
The Tigers will host Mansfield University next Friday on Powers Field at Princeton Stadium.
