Griggs Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/24/11) - Julian Griggs has been named the Ivy League Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the week, it was announced by the league office on Monday, Oct. 24. This is Griggs' first conference honor.
Griggs scored his first career goals to propel Princeton to its first Ivy League win of the season, a 3-2 game at Harvard. In just his third start of the year, Griggs scored in the 21st minute and in the 38th minute. He scored his first career goal when he dribbled into the box and rifled a shot from the left side in past goalkeeper Austin Harms to knot the game at 1-1. Less than six minutes after the Crimson took a 2-1 lead, Griggs once again evened the game burying a cross at 37:56. Griggs led the Tigers in shots in with four, putting all four on goal.
Princeton hosts No. 25 Cornell on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m., on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
