New York Weekend Ahead for Tennis Teams

Both Princeton tennis teams will head to New York City this weekend for tournaments, with the men heading to Manhattan for Columbia's event and the women to Queens for the USTA Invitational.
Columbia's event will feature three singles and three doubles flights. Princeton will place Matija Pecotic, Dan Davies, Michael Lin, Coleman Crutchfield, Ravi Yegya-Raman and Ben Quazzo in singles play, while Lin and Yohei Shoji, Quazzo and a Fairleigh Dickinson player, and Crutchfield and Yegya-Raman will team up for doubles. Matches will begin at 9 a.m. each day Friday through Sunday with doubles play followed by singles.
Pecotic will open the 16-man "A" singles draw against Fairfield's Dan Sauter, while Davies will start against Vasko Mladenov of St. John's. In the "B" singles draw, Linn will open against Robert Wong of Penn, while Crutchfield will start against another Quaker, Lucas Andreika. In the "C" singles draw, Quazzo will start against Marist's Dalen Klassen, while Yegya-Raman will open against Amherst's Robbie Sorrel. The eight-team "A" doubles draw will start Lin and Shoji against Winston Lin and Haig Schneiderman of Columbia, while Quazzo and his doubles partner will open against Andrew Scheiner and Sorrel of Amherst in the "B" draw. In the "C" draw, Crutchfield and Yegya-Raman will face Matty Najfeld and Greg Streat of St. John's.
Players from Fairfield, Columbia, Penn, St. John's. Marist, Fordham, FDU, Amherst, Monmouth are involved in the event. Complete draws are available at the PDF link on this page.
The women's team will compete in the USTA tournament two weeks after the men's team was in the same event. Draws have not yet been released, but information on the tournament, which runs Saturday through Monday at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center, is available through the USTA here.
