Two Doubles Teams Advance to Finals at USTA Event

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Katie Goepel, Rachel Saiontz, Caitlin Bartlett and Joan Cannon will represent the Princeton women's tennis team Monday morning at the USTA Invitational in New York after winning their way into the finals of their doubles flights during Sunday's play.
Goepel and Saiontz defeated Amber Li and Annie Sullivan of Yale 8-5 in Sunday's "B" flight semifinal, while Bartlett and Cannon beat Rosemary Li and Sara Perelman of Cornell 9-7 in their "C" flight semifinal to reach Monday. Goepel and Saiontz will take on Nadia Lee and Franziska Spinkmeyer of North Texas in the "B" final, while Bartlett and Cannon will meet another Mean Green pair in Ilona Serchenko and Barbara Vykydalova in the "C" final.
In all, six Tigers competed in 15 matches between singles and doubles play Sunday, while Monday's two doubles contests, beginning at 9 a.m., will be the only ones involving Princetonians as singles play has concluded for the Orange and Black.
