Women's Tennis Has Winning Day in North Carolina
November 04, 2011 | Women's Tennis
Princeton won two doubles and five singles matches on the first day of the Kitty Harrison Invitational in North Carolina Friday.
The event, co-hosted by Duke and North Carolina, offers three days of singles and doubles matches primarily between players of two schools, differing from the bracketed tournaments that occupy the fall schedule.
In doubles play, Lindsay Graff won both matches in which she played, teaming with Katie Goepel to defeat a Minnesota pair and with Hilary Bartlett to win against a Duke duo. Minnesota and Duke each picked up one win against a Princeton pair.
In singles play, Bartlett, Graff and Goepel each won matches against players from Marshall, which picked up only one singles victory against the Tigers. Joan Cannon won a full match against Marshall while taking the win in a single-set contest against Minnesota.
