Men's Tennis to Host Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday
February 10, 2011 | Men's Tennis
With two wins over ranked teams already on the young dual meet season, the 69th-ranked Princeton men's tennis team (2-1) will host Fairleigh Dickinson (0-2) Saturday at 2 p.m. in Jadwin Gym.
Princeton won its season opener at home two weekends ago against then-No. 71 Penn State and, after entering the ITA poll at No. 73, followed it up with a clean sweep of No. 60 Northwestern on the Wildcats' home court last weekend. The following day, DePaul dealt Princeton its first loss by a 4-3 final.
FDU has been swept by St. John's and Lehigh so far during the spring dual season. The Tigers and Knights have never met, and this match will be the first for Princeton against any of the other five current Division I programs in New Jersey. Monmouth, NJIT, Rider and St. Peter's are the other four.
After the FDU match, both the Princeton men's and women's teams will compete in the ECAC Championship next weekend, with the women hosting and the men traveling to Harvard. Pairings will be announced early next week.
