STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Princeton's 38th-ranked women's tennis team fell 4-3 to 23rd-ranked Virginia Commonwealth Saturday afternoon in a match hosted by Penn State.
The Tigers will face Penn State Sunday at noon.
VCU won the doubles point and clinched the match with Alex Bara's win at fourth singles over Monica Chow. Blakely Ashley was a winner in both doubles and singles for Princeton, which also got singles wins from Rachel Saiontz and Katherine Flanigan.
VCU improves to 12-1 win the win while the Tigers drop to 4-5 with all five losses coming to teams ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's top 40 at the time of the match.
