Women's Tennis Opens Ivy Play with Win at Penn
March 26, 2011 | Women's Tennis
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Taylor Marable's two-tiebreak victory at fourth singles was the clincher as the Princeton women's tennis team won its Ivy League opener 4-3 Saturday afternoon over Penn.
The Quakers swept the doubles point, but Princeton came back with singles wins from Rachel Saiontz, Monica Chow and Katherine Flanigan to counter Penn singles wins on courts one and six to tie the match at 3-3. Marable, who won a tiebreak in the first set, did the same in set number two to lift Princeton to 1-0 in Ivy play and 8-7 overall.
Princeton will host Brown and Yale next Friday and Saturday as the Ivy League season continues.
