Women's Track & Field Sends 14 to ECAC Championships
March 03, 2011 | Women's Track and Field
PRINCETON, N.J. (3/3/11) - The Princeton women's track & field team will send 14 members to the 2011 ECAC Division I Indoor Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston this weekend, March 5-6.
The Tigers will run both their 4x800 and DMR relays. The 4x800 of Greta Feldman, Molly Higgins, Kristin Smoot and Alexis Mikaelian set a Princeton and Ivy League record last weekend at Heps with a time of 8:43.16, erasing a 24-year record. Princeton has raced a DMR just one time this season but with distance being one of the teams' strong suits, the Tigers should do well in the event.
Senior Sarah Cummings will run in the 5000, an event she was third in at Heps last weekend with a time of 16:25.83.
Princeton will also compete five pole vaulters including the defending ECAC Champion Tory Worthen who set an ECAC record last year clearing 4.11 meters. Worthen won the Ivy League pole vault last weekend, with teammate Samantha Anderson the runner-up as both reached 3.90 meters. Also trying for the ECAC title will be sophomore Lauren Tauscher and juniors Bianca Reo and Lydia Arias.
