Women's 4x800 Wins at ECAC Championship

BOSTON (3/6/11) - The Princeton women's track & field team competed at the ECAC Championship at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston this weekend.
After an Ivy League record-setting time at Heps, the 4x800 posted another great time to be crowned the ECAC Champions. Kacie O'Neil, Molly Higgins, Kristin Smoot and Alexis Mikaelian ran 8:49.07, shaving more than four seconds off their preliminary time in the finals.
Higgins and Mikalian went on to run in the distance medley relay with Melissa Zajdel and Greta Feldman. The relay ran its best time of the season at 11:32.56 to finish in fourth place.
Also hitting a high note was sophomore Tory Worthen in the pole vault. Worthen who won the title last year with a meet record 4.11 meters finished in second place despite clearing 4.00 meters, the same height as the winner, Ashlyn Llerandi of Villanova. Freshman Samantha Anderson finished eighth with a mark of 3.70.
