April 14, 2011 | Wrestling
The 2010-11 Princeton wrestling highlight video is now available online on GoPrincetonTigers.TV.
Princeton won four team matches on the season, including a 21-16 comeback win over Brown and an 18-16 win over Bucknell that head coach Chris Ayres called "the program's best win in our time here." The Tigers also had individual successes during the regular season, including two placewinners (Garrett Frey and Daniel Kolodzik) at the prestigious Southern Scuffle and seven placewinners in Princeton's first two full-team tournaments to open the season.
That progress continued at the 2011 EIWA Championships, where Princeton had five placewinners, the best mark in more than a decade. Frey took fifth at 125 and qualified for his second straight NCAA tournament, while teammates Tony Comunale (sixth, 133), Zach Bintliff (eighth, 141), Kolodzik (sixth, 157) and Erdman (eighth, 184) also stood on the medal podium at the end of the competition.
Princeton will return nine starters next year, including two-time NCAA qualifier Frey, 25-match winner Kolodzik and 16-match winner Bintliff, each of whom will be at least third-year starters next season.
