April 03, 2011 | Women's Golf
With the Ivy League Championship later this month, the Princeton women's golf team will have its last two tournaments before that event in short order beginning Monday in Maryland when they head to the Hoya Invitational hosted by Georgetown.
The Tigers will get a look at several of their Ivy counterparts at the event, as Columbia, Harvard, Penn and Yale are in the field. Also competing are Boston College, Hartford, Lehigh, Nova Southeastern, Radford, Richmond, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, St. John's, Towson and host Georgetown.
Princeton was part of the event annually from 2007-09 with the last two of those tournaments held at the same Members Club at Four Streams course that will host this year's event. Princeton won it in 2007 and 2008 with Susannah Aboff '09 taking the individual titles each time. The Tigers took second as a team in 2009.
The 17-team field will play 36 holes beginning at 9 a.m. Monday on the par-72, 6,127-yard course before playing 18 holes Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m.
Once the tournament concludes Tuesday, Princeton will have four days away from competition before heading up to the Brown Invitational in Rhode Island for its final tournament before the Ivy event begins April 22 at the Atlantic City Country Club.
