Chris Ayres Announces, Comments On Wrestling Class Of 2015

Six talented standouts will join the 2011-12 Princeton wrestling team with hopes of continuing the current rebuilding process, it was announced recently by head coach Chris Ayres.
"We are very excited about the incoming group of freshman as we are adding both a lot of talent and depth to our roster," Ayres said. "As a group they have been successful on both the state and national level, and with this class our program takes another big step forward in the rebuilding process. I can't wait for them to get on campus."
After two seasons with a starting roster comprised mostly by freshmen and sophomores, Ayres expects to come into next season with far more experience than he has at any other point during his previous five seasons at Princeton. While the team's depth will be bolstered by this incoming set of recruits, Ayres also expects several to immediately compete for starting positions.

Ryan Cash

Aurora
Cash was a top-four finisher in the Ohio state tournament twice during his career. A former district champion, he qualified for Cadet Nationals at Fargo and placed third at the Brecksville Holiday Tournament. Cash recorded a 13-4 record at Junior Olympics, and he placed second at the Central Region tournament.
Chris Perez

Perez posted a career record of 95-16 and was a three-time NHSCA All-America honoree. He placed in the top seven three times, including a career-best finish of second at 125 pounds during his senior year. A two-time section champion, he was voted the Sectional Wrestler of the Year as a senior; he placed third in the 2011 New York state championships, and he placed fifth at the Super 32 championships.
Steven Leshinger

Leshinger earned a career record of 74-24 while wrestling at Sayville. He earned all-section honors and was a League V finalist. A New York State (NYS) Junior Greco-Roman finalist, Leshinger placed third in the NYS Junior Freestyle Championships. Voted team captain twice, he was an All-Northeast Regional honoree in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.
Kyle Roddy

Roddy is a three-time Ohio state championships qualifier and a 2010 placewinner. A Beast of the East placewinner, he won a district championship and earned a bronze medal at the A.A.U. Junior Olympics. Roddy is a Top Gun finalist and a two-time placewinner at the Brecksville Holiday Tournament. A three-time Academic All-Ohio honoree, Roddy was a first-team All-Sun and All-Cleveland Plain Dealer selection, as well as a Ohio Junior Dual Team member.
Rich Eva

Eva recorded a high school career record of 167-40 and was nationally ranked each of his four years at Christiansburg. A three-time Virginia state champion, three-time region champion and four-time district champion, Eva earned FILA Cadet All-America honors in 2009. He was a two-time placewinner at the Powerade Wrestling Tournament and placed eighth at the prestigious Ironman Championships. A District Wrestler of the Year honoree, he was a three-time selection to the All-Timesland Team. Eva was also a winner at the Big Blue Wrestling Tournament, the Hopewell Classic and the Virginia State Freestyle Championships.
David Bell

Bell went 131-25 during his high school career and reached three consecutive state finals. The 2010 Florida state champion, Bell is also a two-time region champion after finishing as a runner-up his sophomore season. A two-time county Wrestler of the Year and two-time First-Team All First Coast selection, he is a two-time team captain.
