June 27, 2011 | Women's Soccer
Princeton alumna Diana Matheson '08 continued her international soccer career with Team Canada at the Women's World Cup in Germany this summer.
Matheson, who was an All-America honoree during career at Princeton that saw her help the Tigers advance to the NCAA College Cup semifinals in 2004, played the full 90 minutes in all three games for Team Canada against Germany, France and Nigeria, though Canada did not advance out of the group stage.
Matheson ranks fourth all-time in Princeton history with 78 points while leading the program with 26 assists. She is in her ninth year with the Canadian national team and has played in 125 international games, second-most among current Canadian national team members. Matheson was also featured in a Team Canada story on June 24 that can be read here.
