The Tigers finished 13-7 overall in 2010-11, finishing the year ranked No. 63 nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Princeton's 6-1 Ivy League record gave the Tigers their most wins since the Ivy began sponsoring men's tennis in 1999.
Michael Katz (Owings Mills, Md./Gilman School) is ranked as a four-star recruit by TennisRecruiting.net, which lists him as a national top-150 and state top-10 player. Katz was named the Baltimore Sun Athlete of the Week in May 2010 for winning Maryland's "A" conference singles title.
"Michael has proven that he can play with any of the top nationally ranked juniors in the country and he will add depth to our team," Michibata said.
Zack McCourt (Sunrise, Fla./Sagemont) is ranked as a five-star recruit by TennisRecruting.net. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel named McCourt as its top area player this spring after he went undefeated in singles and doubles play while winning the overall state singles and doubles titles. McCourt was also the Boys 18U USTA National Spring Championship titlist.
"Zack has really turned it on since committing to Princeton," Michibata said. "He has raised his ranking to as high as 10th in the country and is now the highest ranked player in the U.S. that will enroll at an Ivy League school."
Ben Quazzo (Chicago, Ill./Latin) is ranked as a four-star recruit by TennisRecruiting.net, which lists him as a national top-200 player nationally and top-10 in Illinois. Quazzo advanced to the quarterfinals of the Illinois high school singles tournament this spring.
"Ben bases his game around a big serve and a powerful forehand," Michibata said. "With some hard work, I can envision him being a very dangerous player in singles and doubles."
