Shon Finishes Play at Canadian Open
August 26, 2011 | Women's Golf
Princeton sophomore Kelly Shon finished her play at the Canadian Open in Mirabel, Quebec Friday just three shots short of making the cut to continue on into the weekend.
Shon looked to be into position to advance to the weekend through her first 12 holes Friday, standing at -2 after three birdies and a bogey. Two bogeys and a double-bogey over the last six holes put her out of contention to make the cut, however. The top 70 players advanced to the weekend, and 1-under turned out to be the number to advance.
Friday's round was Shon's third of the week in Quebec after qualifiying for the Canadian Open in a Monday tournament. She and her Princeton teammates will begin their fall season at the Princeton Invitational on September 24.
