Women's Tennis to Host Temple in Season Opener Wednesday
January 30, 2012 | Women's Tennis
The 50th-ranked Princeton women's tennis team will open the 2012 spring season against Temple Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Jadwin Gymasium.
It will also be the season opener for the Owls, who came up short 4-3 in a scrimmage against Penn last weekend. Princeton holds a 14-1 record in the all-time series, with Temple's win coming in 1994. The Tigers have won nine in a row against the Owls, most recently in 2010 with a 7-0 sweep.
Princeton boasts two ranked doubles pairs on the most recent ITA list, with senior Hilary Bartlett and freshman Lindsay Graff checking in at No. 51, and senior Rachel Saiontz and freshman Katie Goepel ranking 55th.
Following the match, Princeton will head to Georgia Tech for a Friday dual with the Yellow Jackets before hosting Maryland and Rutgers next weekend.
