Men's Tennis Takes First Ivy Loss at Dartmouth
April 15, 2012 | Men's Tennis
HANOVER, N.H. -- The Princeton men's tennis team was dealt its first loss of the Ivy League season Saturday at Dartmouth by a 4-3 final, putting it on no worse footing than any other Ivy team.
The Tigers remained in a tie in the loss column atop the Ivy League when Columbia, the only other Ivy-undefeated team heading into the weekend, lost to Yale, also 4-3.
Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard and Yale each have one loss in the Ivy League. Princeton and Harvard will meet Sunday in Cambridge, while the Tigers will take on Columbia and Cornell next week.
Dartmouth took the doubles point and three of the six singles matches, clinching Saturday's victory when Brandon DeBot beat Matt Siow, 6-3, 6-2, at sixth singles. Matija Pecotic, Matt Spindler and Dan Richardson had singles victories, while Michael Lin and Yohei Shoji teamed up for a doubles win.
