Harvard Defeats Men's Tennis, 5-2
April 16, 2012 | Men's Tennis
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- No. 24 Harvard won the doubles point and four singles matches to defeat the Princeton men's tennis team 5-2 Sunday afternoon.
Harvard's win puts it in first place in the Ivy League at 3-1, while Princeton is one of five teams with two losses. Penn, Princeton, Cornell and Columbia will all end their regular seasons next weekend, while Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard and Yale will play their last match in two weekends, meaning the league title may not be decided for a week after half the league wraps up.
Matija Pecotic and Augie Bloom had Princeton's points in singles play. The Tigers will play at Columbia next Friday before hosting Cornell Sunday.
