Feldman Sneaks Up on Record as PRs were Abound on Day 1 of Larry Ellis

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/20/12) - Personal bests were abound as the Princeton women's track & field team began the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday, April 20 at Weaver Stadium.
Junior Greta Feldman was the runner-up in the 1500. She ran a PR of 4:18.86, shaving 1:43 off her previous best time of 4:21.09. That time is the second-best time in Princeton program history. The record is 4:17.15 set by Laura Cattivera in 1989. Feldman was the top collegiate finisher with unattached Melissa Salerno taking first at 4:16. Feldman and Salerno were the only two in the race of 63 to clock in in under 4:21. Freshman Molly Higgins placed in the top 10, taking eighth at 4:24.24. Her time was a PR as well, taking more than four seconds off her previous best time.
Sophomore Kacie O'Neil and freshman Cecilia Barowski both ran PRs in the 800 Elite. O'Neil ran a 2:09.22 to finish ninth and Barowksi was a few strides back clocking in at 2:09.95 for 13th place in a race of 60.
In the 5000, junior Abby Levene ran a big PR taking more than 1:03 off her previous best time to post a time of 16:38.78, bettering her previous best of 17:42.35 to finish ninth.
