Fedun Continues Amazing Recovery at Oilers Development Camp

EDMONTON - The start of development camp was enthusiastically circled on Taylor Fedun's calendar.

It wasn't because he was anxious to undergo the arduous fitness test required of the Edmonton Oilers' top prospects, but simply because he could take part in the proceedings.

Fedun, pushing for a roster spot in his first NHL training camp, had that bid shattered when he suffered a compound fracture in his right femur during a race for the puck. He crashed into the end boards in the Oilers' second-last pre-season game.

While the injury was potentially career-ending, the Edmonton-raised, Princeton University-trained defenceman has not only recovered to the point where he's able to take part in this week's camp, he's determined to finish what he started last September.
