Hoppenot Continues Success with the Union
July 13, 2012 | Men's Soccer
Antoine Hoppenot was named the Man of the Match on Saturday, July 7 as the Philadelphia Union topped Toronto, 3-0 at PPL Park in Philadelphia.
Labled the Union's most dangerous offensive weapon off the bench, Hoppenot padded Union's lead with a goal in the 78th minute when he blasted a through ball by goalie Milos Kokic on the left side. A video of the goal can be found below.
Hoppenot was also featured on Major League Soccer's Web site MLSsoccer.com. Each week the editors vote for their choice for MLS Rookie of the Year. Hoppenot was one of two new players to make their way into the Rookie Rankings this week.
Not only was Hoppenot featured on MLSsoccer.com, but he was also featured on the Union's page. Gordon X sits down with Hoppenot to talk about his life as a Paris-born Jersey guy, the squad's recent successes, the US Open Cup quarterfinals, his college accolades at Princeton, and the new John Hackworth era of the Philadelphia Union.
