"Out of all the teams I talked to they were very honest," Moore said. "All the teams I talked to were very honest. It just looked like it was good opportunity for me to try to make the NHL."
The 27-year-old spent four years in the San Jose Sharks system, mostly with the team's AHL affiliate in Worcester, Mass. Moore played in 253 games with the AHL Sharks, recording 72 points and 365 penalty minutes.
He captained the Sharks in 2010-11 and plans to use the leadership experience in Nashville's system.
"I learned a lot playing in Worcester and I think being able to be NHL ready, that's one thing," Moore said. "Having the experience of being in a role in Worcester where I was one of the older guys there on the team, expected to be a leader and expected to help out with the younger guys. I wasn't looked at necessarily as a young rookie coming in just to make the team as youthful energy."
