September 19, 2012 | Women's Golf
• The Princeton women's golf team will open its fall season at the Yale Fall Intercollegiate at the Yale Golf Course with rounds to be played Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the par-72, 6,100-yard course.
• Joining Princeton and Yale in the tournament will be four other Ivies, including Brown, Harvard, Penn and Dartmouth, along with Lee University (NAIA, Tenn.), Boston College, Sacred Heart, Penn State, Long Island Univ., Lehigh, Nova Southeastern (Div. II, Fla.) and Rutgers.
• The program has competed in Yale-hosted events throughout its two-decade history, but this will be the first time since 2006 that Princeton has been a part of a Yale tournament. In Princeton's last visit, the Tigers topped an 11-team field, with Annika Welander '07 winning the individual title.
• The Tigers welcome two freshmen, Sydney Kersten and Alexandra Wong, to the team this season after graduating one senior in 2012, Wonji Choi. Kelly Shon, a junior this year, was a second-team All-Ivy League pick who went on to earn an individual bid to the NCAA East Regional for the second straight year last spring.
